Choi Sooyoung wins ‘Discovery of the Year’ in the 15th Jecheon International Music & Film Festival - JIMFF Awards 2019

Actress Choi Sooyoung won ‘Discovery of the Year’ through her film <Memories of a Dead End> in JIMFF Awards 2019, hosted by the 15th Jecheon International Music & Film Festival (JIMFF).
Choi gave her speech saying, “This is a reward for the time I’ve spent concerning about films and I appreciate the director and producer of <Memories of a Dead End> for giving me this great opportunity. I think ‘the first step is important and in that sense, I also want to give thanks to the late director Ryu Jangha for giving me opportunity to start my career in films.”
A film <Memories of a Dead End> is about Yumi (Choi Sooyoung) who had unexpectedly parted with her boyfriend in Japan tries to heal her wounded heart through new people in a small café.
Choi played her role in subtle and emotional ways that drew audiences’ compliments on her performance.
Also, in a recent film <Miss & Mrs. Cops>, Choi successfully played her comic and rough character Jangmi and received a comment “A New Discovery of Choi Sooyoung”.
